Shop Alamo Chamber Members

The signs of progress in our “Shop Local” campaign are popping up every day. Every business in Alamo is being asked to display a poster that identifies the reasons to shop local, the dates for upcoming Chamber mixers, and remind everyone to pick up a copy of the Alamo Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory, the guide for local businesses and services. The new directory will be published soon, but it’s not too late to join the chamber for a free listing in the directory or purchase an upgrade advertisement!

Next time you need to make a purchase, ask yourself, where you want your money to go? To your neighborhoods? schools? parks? local businesses? or elsewhere? To find a local business, go to the Chamber website, click on the ONLINE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY or be on the lookout for the directories to start appearing in local businesses soon.

Chairman’s Message

We have had a busy, exciting month at the Alamo Chamber of Commerce! We are mentoring three students from Monte Vista High School’s Multi Media Class and they have helped launch our “Shop Local” Campaign. The posters they designed are going up all over town as an integral part of our communications plan. The students also established our social networking sites -- soon we will be accessible by FaceBook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter! We hope this mentoring program continues to be as successful in the future and look forward to expanding it next year. We invite you to join our Chamber!

As Membership Chair, some of the most common questions I hear are: Why should I become a member of your organization? What’s in it for me? This is easy to answer but truly only works when applied. Just like any other group we all join over the years, from
kids building a tree house; the office lunch group; or collecting food for the homeless.

The more you contribute, the more you get back. Volunteer, step up and be involved. 2010 Directory Coming Soon!

Chamber Member Directory - 2010 New Edition

It is time to collect information for our 2010 Alamo Chamber of Commerce Membership directory. Last year’s format was such a success, that this year’s directory will follow the same design. Members may edit their listing at www.alamochamberofcommerce.com.

All Alamo Chamber of Commerce members receive a free basic listing for their business. Enhanced listings with an additional 240 characters are available for $50. The enhancement listing can be prepared online. Ad space is also available. Due to a slight increase in print costs, there is an increase in ad rates.
